Film Set

What's the big idea?

You're probably asking yourself, "Who is this guy and why should I care what this guy thinks about?"  Well, I dont know if I have a good answer, except to tell you a little about myself and my blog.

My name is Dave Serio and I am the Curator of the Arab Film Festival at the Arab American National Museum (AANM), which is the first and only Museum of its kind in the entire United States, dedicated to telling the history, culture and contributions of Arab Americans. Even before my journey as Curator, I've always had a love for film, especially films from the SWANA (Southwest Asia and North Africa) and among my fellow SWANA American community.

While I am far from an expert, I love discussing films, sharing my thoughts and also getting other opinions and viewpoints. My goal with this blog is to talk independent films and share it with you all.  I also want this to be a place of healthy, respectful discussion. While I may write about all types of film, this will be a blog that has a focus on SWANA films and films from her diaspora.

I am also involved in several aspects of film including producing, acting and screenwriting.  I'm always looking for ways to collaborate and uplift my communities.

I hope you'll enjoy reading my blog as much as I do.   Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, suggestions or just want to say hi!
